From Eileen Stevens Rhoades: Teresa married William Schneck and they lived in Hamilton, Ohio. He was one of the heads of the Champion Paper Company in Hamilton. (The whole family lived in
Hamilton, Ohio) Their home is still standing in Hamilton. They had four girls-Carrie-Mildred-Gladys and Miriam. Carrie was born Jan 25, 1895 and d May 1985 she was married 1916 to Stanley Kapp
b Oct. 2, 1893 d Sep 1976. Carrie was a secretary for the Milner-Wool Dress Shop on High Street in Hamilton and Stan worked for the Niles Machine Shop in fact he retired from there.
They had a son Robert b. Aug 25, 1917 d Jun 21, 1988 he married Deloris Hinkle b Feb 6, 1918 d May 1994. Robert also worked for the Niles Machine Shop in fact
3 generations worked and retired from Niles.
Bob and Deloris had 9 children-Robert Jr. b Feb 15, 1958 d June 1986 of a heart attack-twins Peggy and Patty-Harriet-David-Barbara-Tom-Steve and Carol. We spent
more time with Carrie and Stan and their sons family than the other girls. I always stayed at Carrie and Stan's for a couple of weeks each summer. Stan and Bob played softball
for Niles so we always went to the games and they always took me out to eat a lot something that I never got to do at home. After Stan retired they leased a cottage along the Miami
river and our boys liked to go there and fish [never caught anything but they had fun trying]. Robert Jr. was married and had 2 sons but I don't know who he married other than Judy
and I don't know much about the rest of their kids. I know they are married but that is all I know.
Mildred was married to Ira Cohen and he run a junk yard. I don't know their birthdates. Gladys b July 29, 1904 d May 21, 1996 she married ? Sepin. He was an invalid
when I knew him and I can't remember his first name even though we visited them when I was at Carrie's in the summer. Gladys was the head of the Hamilton Library.
She is the person that came up with the idea of the Book Mobile. She thought it would be a good idea to take the books to the people. So the next time you see a
Book Mobile you know that it was family that thought of it in the beginning. Miriam lived in Norfolk Va and to my knowledge I never met her.
William Schenck died at his home and Aunt Teresa died in a Nursing Home near Middletown, Ohio. Carrie and Stan went to the same Nursing Home in their later years and died there
also. Stan was bedfast first and Carrie took care of him at home as long as she could. When they first went to the Nursing Home she read the Bible over the intercom to the patients
that were unable to leave their rooms.
I wrote this up and put it in a book so that our children would know a little something about Grandma Hupe's family as our kids remember her as she stayed with my parents after she was afraid
to stay by herself anymore. She wasn't an invalid but she was hard of hearing and the rest of the family thought it best if she didn't live alone anymore. She stayed with all of Mother's brother's
and sister's not just my parents. When my parents were busy she would stay at our house and the kids enjoyed her so much. She loved homeade vegetable soup so I just about always fixed that
when she was there. Now you know a little bit more about the family that perhaps you had never heard before. We used to have the Steiner Reunion at Steiner's gravel pit in West Milton, Ohio.
I don't remember of ever hearing but I am wondering if the Walter Steiner who owned the gravel pits were maybe Bill's son. – Eileen RHOADES, 2004 Obit info for Henry Steiner: Henry Steiner, Dayton Daily Journal, September 3, 1884; v.
